Undergraduate Paralegal Interns

Oasis hosts undergraduate paralegal interns during fall and spring semesters. Paralegal interns work directly with our clients under legal representative supervision to help prepare asylum applications. They also assist our law student interns and pro bono representatives as interpreters. Oasis partners with schools to offer course credit to undergraduate students interning at Oasis. If you are an undergraduate student interested in a paralegal internship, please email a resumé and cover letter to legal@oasislegalservices.org. Spanish fluency required.

Law Student Interns

Oasis hosts law student interns in the summer and during fall and spring semesters. Law students have the opportunity to work directly with our clients under attorney supervision to help prepare asylum and other affirmative immigration cases, declarations and affidavits, and represent clients at their asylum interviews before USCIS. Pro Bono Attorneys

Pro bono attorneys support our clients in a variety of ways, including limited scope representation at asylum and other administrative hearings, declaration drafting, benefits applications, preparing clients for citizenship tests, and conducting country conditions research. Oasis staff attorneys provide pro bono attorneys robust training and mentorship. You might find that working with Oasis clients is one of the most meaningful experiences of your legal career.

Volunteers

Oasis has a limited number of opportunities for volunteers who are able to commit to volunteering for a minimum of 2 hours per week for 3 months. Volunteer opportunities include: oral and written translation (primarily Spanish and Portuguese), administrative tasks like filing and data entry, and assisting with data analysis projects.
