Meet Our First-Ever Social Services Interns in Our Fresno Office

We are happy to announce that, for the first time in Oasis history, we now have two social services interns working out of our Fresno office! Our Social Services program was officially created in 2021, and while we’ve always supported clients from the Central Valley, our office in Fresno didn’t open until 2022. Since then, we’ve been growing our Fresno team, and this year, we welcomed our first pair of Social Services interns. Meet them ahead!

Noelia (she/her/ella) grew up in Santa Maria, California. She arrived in the United States at the age of three and comes from a Oaxacan Mexican family. Noelia graduated from the University of California, Merced, with a major in sociology and a minor in political science. During her time pre- and post-graduation, she has worked in numerous roles, including as a health educator and a peer educator specializing in topics like gender-based violence and promoting health equity. Currently, Noelia is attending California State University, Fresno, to pursue her master's in social work. In the future, she would like to work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and provide resources to both the healthcare sector and underserved communities. In her free time, Noelia loves hanging out with family, shopping, watching K-dramas and playing board games, as well as eating out and trying new foods.

Ived (she/her/ella) grew up in a Mexican household in Fresno, California, in the Central Valley. After getting her undergraduate degree in psychology from California State University, Fresno, she relocated to Southern California and worked as an adoptive family advocate. She fell in love with social work and decided to pursue her MSW degree at California State University, Fresno. She plans on pursuing a career in social work and becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Ived is passionate about working with diverse communities and hopes to share this passion with Oasis. In her downtime, Ived enjoys spending time with her family and her cat, and going on hikes.
