Announcing 2023 Regional Conference on Immigration Hosted by CVIIC

Next month, on November 15, Oasis will be presenting at a Conference on Immigration Integration in Fresno, CA.

The Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative (CVIIC) Regional Conference is an annual event that brings together representatives of immigrant serving organizations. Oasis is one of over 70 organizations and agencies partnering to address priority issues in immigration service through trainings and panel sessions. We are also recognizing the contributions of outstanding community leaders and will help define the regional agenda for next year.

Our Executive Director, Adam Ryan Chang, will moderate a panel featuring Juana Echeveste-Davis, Oasis' Social Services Coordinator in the Central Valley, KIND’s (Kids in Need of Defense) Fresno team (including Diana Diaz Madera, Social Services Supervisor, and Elizabeth Camarena, Managing Director), and Dr. Marcus Crawford from CSU Fresno’s Department of Social Work Education. Panelists will address the importance of joint, culturally responsive, social and legal services. Adam will also present an overview of social determinants of health and raise talking points for panelists to speak on how immigration status should be considered a social determinant of health.

The event is free of charge, but pre-registration is required to attend.
